Longshoreman Protest War

Thousands of dockworkers have shut down ports up and down the coast to protest the Iraq War. I haven't seen it covered on the major media markets, but maybe it has been. It doesn't matter. This is part of multiplying smallness. I commend the dockworkers for their courage and their action. We support you!

I am the daughter of a Longshoreman. Thirteen years he worked for the Port of Portland from 1948-1961 (before that,10 years for the Port of Coos Bay, OR) but in 1961 he was tragically killed in an auto accident. When Longshoreman collectively stand their ground on any issue it has a huge impact. You may not be hearing much because the media is supressing it.
